The Christmas Market at La Défense just made its big comeback. And that’s going to last just until December 28, 2017. For this 23rd edition, nearly 250 Christmas booths have been installed on the “Parvis de la Défense” for a thousand and one gift ideas, snacks and hot wine.
We had a look at one of the last bigger Christmas Markets in Paris – and it’s absolutely worth the visit.
In a festive and magical atmosphere, People from all over the parisian region come to stroll with family, friends or collegues and enjoy the multiple opportunities to get some pre-christmas entertainment. This xmas-village is one of the most beautiful and largest (if not the largest) Christmas markets in the region of Paris – surrounded by the impressive architecture of a quartier that is mostly shaped by skyscrapers.
The atmosphere: Very urban and feastful at the same time.
For nearly 6 weeks the “Parvis de la Défense” will host the large event which extends over more than 12 000 m² of surface. In addition to the nourmerous wooden chalets that will keep you on the lookout with their countless gift ideas and snacks, it’s also 400 square meters of festive decor and a wide range of food and restaurants.

You dreamed about it, the Grande Arche of La Défense did it!
Also: An ice skating rink has recently been added to the Christmas Market on the bottom of the huge building, but additionally ther’s an even more breathtaking one on a roof top in the business district. More precisely on the roof-deck of the Grande Arche. Wow!
The Grande Arche rooftop, that is most well-known monument of the area, sets up a temporary ice rink for Christmas and during the Holidays 2017. Like at the Montparnasse tower last year, you can skate enjoying a breathtaking view over the French capital.
